When your reality conflicts with what God said…

faith, trust god, Uncategorized
How many of you are in a transitional phase of your life? You've received a word from the Lord and you are waiting for it to manifest.  The reality of your situation is not lining up to what was spoken. You're waiting on God, but my question is: How are you waiting?  Let's consider, two examples: God spoke a word to Abraham that He will bless his seed with land. He said that all the families on earth would be blessed through him. He told Abraham that he could count the stars in the sky and that's how many descendants he would have. Abraham and his wife, Sarah, were wondering how when they didn't even have a son to begin with. Also, he and his wife were very old, well past child…

Where we are weak…

faith, Uncategorized
God is strong.  The Lord says that where we are weak, He is strong. “Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬  “So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord!” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭31:24‬ ‭NLT‬‬ When do you actually find out how strong you are? When do you find out what you're made of? How much can you endure?  It's through trials and tribulations that we all face in the world.  I was sitting outside this morning enjoying my coffee and reflecting on this season of my life.  I was reflecting on the…

Identity Crisis of the Christian

Identity in Christ
Who or what gives you your identity? I will say that our identity is shaped when we are young in the environment that we grow up in. In fact, Our parents are the first examples we see on how to live and what type of person to be. They teach us our values, show us what love looks like, and teach us responsibility. We may also get negative examples. Everyone was raised differently. For example, some may get teaching on hate: Hate for others and often times self-hate and low self esteem, getting called names as a form of emotional abuse, and some grow up with sexual and/or physical abuse. This will all play a part in what type of adult you will be. Imagine going through all of the…

Faith it and you will make it

faith, Uncategorized
Have you ever heard the term, "Fake it until you make it?" Most people have. Do you know what it means? It means to imitate confidence and competence with an optimistic mindset.  You do this until it comes to pass.  The "faking it" part is acting in a way as if it was already true. The "making it" part is the hopeful realization that it will come to pass. You have to believe in yourself even to fake it. You have to be confident enough to pull it off. You must act the part. Faith it and you will make it! This is the meaning of Faith: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1 Having faith means to hope and…

Who taught you to quit?

faith, Uncategorized
Man oh man, I am so inspired right now, and also so full of praise from the message that I just heard  Hallelujah and Glory to God!   I was watching a live stream of TD Jake's at Second Ebenezer church for their Pastors' 40th anniversary. In his closing remarks he spoke on how people with dreams settle for less and quit. ..should've been and could've been this or that. But God says because we are His, He will heal us from that! He was speaking of backsliding. Not in the sense of you used to go to church, but in a sense from quitting, giving up and stopping in our journey. Our dreams and gifts, etc can just slide right off if we are not careful. He said it must…
